Clare and Spencer taking a nap after nursing

The last couple days, Spencer has really been into “cluster feeding”. He will nurse almost continuously for hours at a time. He frequently falls asleep after 10 or 15 minutes of nursing, but if Clare tries to get up, then he wakes up and wants more. Hopefully he won’t keep this up for too much longer.

Are you trying to kill your kid? Don't you know that letting a baby sleep with an adult is deadly?

I'm usually most afraid of smothering him with my boob while feeding. 11 days and he is still alive. We will continue to monitor the situation and get back to you.

Gabe was reading a warning lable that came with one of our baby blankets. One of the things that it warned against was letting the baby sleep in an adult bed or with a sleeping adult.

Yes, apparently "soft blankets" is some great risk factor in baby deaths.

Sleeping on the back has a risk of about 1 in 1000. Sleeping on the stomach has a risk of 5 in 1000. Fairly small. Plus, it really matters on the kid. Spencer is almost strong enough to roll over. Once he can do that, it doesn't matter how we put him down. He will choose his favorite position. http://parenting.ivillage.com/newborn/nhealth/0,,n2hh,00.html

It seems to me that if you're sleeping in the same bed as your kid, you're a lot more likely to notice it they stop breathing than if they're in a crib or another room.
