The other day we were looking at the dinosaur outfit that Kristin got Spencer. He was too small for it while it was cold, and now it is mostly too warm to wear full body outfits. I was thinking he could wear it for halloween, but Clare thought he would be too big by then. So we decided to put it on him and see. Sure enough, it fits pretty well now, but will surely be too small by October. This week has actually been a bit chilly (highs around 70), so it was a good time for him to wear it. And he does look very cute in it.

Bang, slap, bop!

Bang, slap, bop!

A couple times I have had Spencer sit on my lap and listen to me play drums. He has even successfully hit the drum a couple times with the stick. Since he seemed to like the drums, but be a bit too small for them still, I decided to try the bongos with him. We can sit on the floor together and both play at the same time. He hasn’t figured out how to him them very well yet, but he likes to watch and listen to me play, and he can use the bongos to support himself a bit so that he is getting better at sitting up by himself.

Man of the house

Frequently I set Spencer in the big chair for a few minutes while I put on my shoes and the baby björn to go shopping. He frequently looks so comfortable in the chair that he looks like the man of the house. What do you think?

Though Spencer usually prefers playing on his tummy, every once in a while he gets in the mood to do some kicking on his back. Here is one such example.

Hail damaged tomatoes

We got a huge hail storm last night. Just as we were getting ready to go to bed, the wind picked up, and then suddenly it sounded like a bunch of drummers all playing on our roof. There was some hail almost as big as golf balls. Our tomatoes took a beating, but hopefully they will come back. They were all taller than the stakes. Now they are all bent over. I am hoping that re-tying them should help them back into health. They still have fruit on them, so that is a good sign.
