Spencer climbing up the stairs

Spencer climbing up the stairs

Spencer is getting pretty good at picking himself up on all sorts of things like couches, chairs and tables. He is also getting pretty good at climbing stairs. He particularly likes to pick himself up and play with a toy on whatever surface he is at. In this video he manages to get up the stairs carrying one of his new trucks. He seems to have just discovered wheels, and likes them quite a bit.

Spencer enjoying the swing at the park near our house

This past weekend was really beautiful here in the Denver area, so we took Spencer over to the park to play on the swings. He seems to enjoy it fairly well, though sometimes it is a bit difficult to tell. I feel really fortunate to live so close to a park (and restaurants and grocery stores).

Spencer playing with the sprinkler

For some reason Spencer really loves playing with the sprinkler. It is very difficult to convince him that he doesn’t want to play with it when it is squirting water, and it is only 65 degrees out. I’m sure next summer he will have lots of fun playing in the sprinkler. For now, we just let him play with it while it is not squirting water.

Spencer seems to be a big fan of pizza crust. He will work on a piece for a good 10-15 minutes, and get most of it down. It is a bit surprising that he doesn’t choke on it, since he often chokes on his spoon, or sometimes on fairly small pieces of food. I guess he is still figuring out how things work.

More!

Spencer asks for more food

Spencer asks for more food

Sometimes Spencer gets pretty excited when we are feeding him. We keep trying to teach him sign language, but he seems to be inventing his own. Banging on his tray means he wants more, or so we think. I am not sure what we were feeding him here, but I think it was creamy red lentil chowder, which he really seems to like.
