Thursday: Blautopf

The first couple photos are near where we are staying in Ulm. I love all the flowers around here, although I’m also grateful for allergy medication.
Our excursion today was to Blaubeuren to see the Blautopf, a blue spring the feeds local rivers and looks extra blue because of limestone nanoparticles that scatter light in that color. There is a monastery located there since 1510. If I knew German and the kids had more patience today, I would have liked to visit the bathhouse museum that may be the only surviving original monastery bathhouse. But it was not in the cards and I settled for some pictures and postcards instead.
We went to a barbecue at Ranier’s. Our kids played together quite well, including cards. The girls played Uno and the boys taught Spencer some Magic. We drove home at the right time to see the sunset.
