While we were on vacation at Horseshoe Lake last week, my parents generously agreed to watching the kids one night so Clare and I could have some “adult” time with our friends Luis and Courtney. We had a great time catching up over beers and Thai food in Northville. Luis and I have been friends for over 22 years now! Great to see you two!
After getting to spend most of the week with family, we also got to spend some time with friends. Last Friday we spent most of the day hanging out with the Moore family. We went to the Hands-on Museum, Arbor Brewing Company, and then enjoyed Jerusalem Gardens at their house. It was great to catch up. Hope to see you again soon!
The first weekend in October, we went to visit our friends, the Adams, who recently moved near Salida, Colorado. We miss having them around the block from us, but we’re happy that they are doing well there, and now we have an excuse to go visit a beautiful place.
Spencer and Tao played pretty much nonstop. Here are a few pictures highlighting our fun.
After promising to visit for about 5 years, the Soule-Reeves family finally made it out to Colorado to see us! We had a very nice visit, even though Danny and Bethany spent Saturday morning being interviewed on Fox News. Saturday we went swimming at the Apex, and then had a bunch of people over for dinner, including Greg & Mekayla, Chris & Sarah, and Grandpa Dibble.
Sunday Chris and Sarah joined us once again for a visit to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. After the museum we went to the playground to enjoy the beautiful 60 degree sunny weather, and took advantage of the breeze to try out some new kites.
Lots of old friends stopped by on Sunday to congratulate them on 40 years together. There was a lot of food and a lot of love. And my parents wound up with a lot of wine. Apparently, what people think you need after 40 years of marriage is a drink 😉 In all seriousness, though, thank you to everyone who helped celebrate.
Spencer turned 3 years old on Tuesday. Saturday we had a party for him at the railroad museum. It was lots of fun. It’s a little hard to believe it’s been 3 years already.
Our good friends Greg and Mekayla are leaving Boulder, CO for Rochester, MN, where Mekayla will be doing design work at the Mayo institute. It sounds like an incredible opportunity. We will miss them dearly. Fortunately, they claim that they are coming back in six months. They had a little going away party Saturday at Mekayla’s mom’s cabin near Blackhawk. Spencer and Meg have both been sick, so we didn’t stay long, but we did get to enjoy the scenic drive on route 6, and wish Greg and Mekayla much luck.
