For Independence day this year we went camping with friends. We ended up getting hailed on, but we managed to have a good time anyways. We got all the best parts of camping done: fire, rice & beans, and s’mores. The campsite we had was not very level, so we kept sliding downhill in our tent, which made sleeping hard, but we stayed warm and dry, and woke up to beautiful weather on the 5th of July.

Spencer liked climbing the stairs by the fish

We went to the butterfly pavilion about a year ago with Spencer. He seemed to like it, but he is obviously much different now. Today we went back with the meetup group I joined recently. Spencer seemed very interested in climbing all the stairs, splashing the water in the starfish petting pools, trying to open every door possible. He seemed to enjoy the butterflies a bit too. It’s always fun to try some new experiences with him.

Spencer enjoyed playing with the tractor

Today Spencer and I went to the Urban Farm in Denver with the Meetup group we joined recently. About 20 people came, and we all had a great time feeding and petting the animals. There was a horse ride at the end (billed as ponies, but they were pretty big in my opinion), but Spencer didn’t want to do that for some reason. He was happy to pet the horse, but didn’t want to get up on it. Maybe next time.
