Bikes and problem solving

A couple days ago around 7:30 p.m. Spencer wanted to go to his friends Tao’s house. I figured they were getting ready for bed, so instead, I suggested that he ride his bike. After I suggested this, he started to get in the car. I figured he had decided that he wanted to pretend to drive the car, which is something he likes to do. All by himself, he was able to open the car door, get in, and close it. He then surprised me by opening the garage door with the remote, getting out of the car, closing the door, and going into the garage to get his bike. Quite the problem solver!

That same night, I decided that Spencer might like riding his bike a bit more if I rode my bike too, so I got my bike out from the corner where it had been collecting dust for 2 years. I wanted to use my air compressor to inflate the tires, but as soon as I got out the air compressor, Spencer got mad and told me it was “loud”. So I used the hand-pump instead to get the tires usable, and we rode up and down our street.

Yesterday afternoon Spencer wanted to go to Tao’s (after just having spent the morning with him at the railroad musem), so I suggested we ride our bikes. We rode around the block to Tao’s house, only to find out he was still napping. Spencer accepted this, and instead we rode to the park. Spencer rode around a bunch at the park. He was particularly enjoying riding around the grass. He is starting to get the hang of it pretty well. Here is a little video of Spencer riding around a big tree. The quality is quite poor, since it is from my phone, and it was extremely windy, but I wanted to share it anyways.
